Officer Support

Cooking With a Cop

Community members commonly observe uniformed officers responding to criminal incidents, attending to traffic collisions, or conducting patrols in marked vehicles. Initiatives such as Cooking with a COP play a significant role in enhancing the approachability of officers and fostering trust between law enforcement and the community. In addition to facilitating open dialogue, the Arlington Police Department hosts a recruitment tent to inform individuals interested in a career in law enforcement, emphasizing that local community members are well-positioned to serve. This event offers a valuable platform for the Districts to address misconceptions regarding policing and promote constructive conversations. Anticipated outcomes include strengthened community trust—a fundamental element of effective policing—which may result in improved community relations, enhanced communication, increased support, and a collective commitment to addressing crime.

There are four events each year held at a park in each district: North, South, East, and West.
